While I’m a graphic design major, I and am also working towards a minor in film and digital media and enjoy photography. I enjoy graphic design best in its elements of problem-solving and innovation. In my album covers, I hoped above all to capture the emotionality of the selected songs; from joyful and energized to reflective and soulful. Visual communication is a powerful tool of connection, much like the music in this collection is.
Meet Me In Church
I wanted to capture the feelings of unity and joy that were present in this upbeat song. I visualized the imagery of the church being the center of this source of joy and energy.
This slower-paced song focused on the originality and history of the spirituality that gospel music is inspired by. I wanted to portray a sense of reflection while playing into the authenticity of album designs of the time period.
He’s Got His Eyes On You
I took a more modern approach to this album’s design. Using the song’s title as inspiration, I presented the feelings of the music by applying it to the idea that this spirituality is present in all aspects of life; taking familiar imagery and applying it in a way that ties them together with a common connection.
